Thiago Motta is set to join Paris Saint Germain, which could see Clement Chantome seal a move to England.
PSG chief Leonardo has stated on Tuesday morning that he was not expecting any deals to be done.
However, PSG have now gone back in for Motta and have agreed terms with Inter - who have Colombian Fredy Guarin coming in from Porto.
The Italian international is now poised to pen a three-and-a-half year at the Parc des Princes.
"An agreement was reached between PSG and Inter for the Thiago Motta's move," his agent Dario Canovi told Tuttomercatoweb.
With Motta's arrival, it also means PSG will now consider allowing Chantome to leave.
Sky Sports understands Fulham are one of a number of Premier League clubs keen on the 24-year-old midfielder, who could indeed make a late move across the Channel.
