Exeter O'Brien saga irks boss

Bradford boss Phil Parkinson has criticised Exeter for their poor conduct during a proposed transfer deal for defender Luke O'Brien.

The Bantams had allowed O'Brien, who has been struggling to get games at Valley Parade, to talk to the Grecians last week. And after an initial meeting the defender travelled down to the south west to apparently close the deal. However, Exeter then stalled on negotiations and O'Brien is now back with Bradford, leaving Parkinson distinctly unhappy. He told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus: "We let OB go for talks then all of a sudden Exeter told us they're not in a position financially to go through with the deal. "They spoke to him (a week) last Friday in a hotel in Oldham. Once you've had that initial chat there's no way you should then take him all the way down there without being able to go through with it. "Whether that still happens I don't know but at the moment it's not."
