Chesterfield have confirmed Dwayne Mattis has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
The midfielder joined from Walsall in August 2010 and last year featured mostly as a centre-back as the Spireites earned promotion to League One. After a string of impressive performances, Mattis won the captain's armband but has struggled to get into the side this season following ankle surgery in September.
