Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed he is confident a deal can be done for want-away striker Carlos Tevez.

Milan duo remain keen on striker

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed he is confident a deal can be done for want-away striker Carlos Tevez. The 27-year-old has not played for the club since his now infamous refusal to warm-up during a Champions League match at Bayern Munich in September. The former West Ham and Manchester United striker remains back in his homeland while negotiations continue between City, his representatives and interested parties. Serie A giants Milan appeared to be in pole position to sign Tevez, but they prefer an initial loan deal while City favour a permanent transfer. With negotiations seemingly reaching an impasse, Milan's city rivals Inter have expressed an interest, with Nerazzurri chief Massimo Moratti confirming the club had spoken to City about the forward. Mancini feels that it is in the striker's interest for a deal to be concluded during the January transfer window.

Solution

"I think maybe we can find a good solution in January... also because it is important for Carlos," said the Italian. "Now it is three or four months that he hasn't played. "I know that there is Inter maybe that is interested because I read the newspapers, and Milan the same but I don't know the latest news."
