Released Whites striker joins SPL strugglers

Hamilton have signed former Leeds United striker Tom Elliott on a deal until the end of the season. The 20-year-old front man was released by the Whites on transfer deadline day after failing to cut the grade at Elland Road. Elliott, a former England youth international, became the first player to make his Leeds debut as a schoolboy back in 2007. But the powerful centre-forward went on to make just four appearances for the Championship side before being farmed out on loan to Macclesfield, Bury and Rotherham. Elliott has scored just one goal in 34 first-team appearances but will get the chance to impress in the SPL with the bottom-placed Accies, who travel to St Johnstone on Tuesday night.
