Good week/Bad week: The winners and losers from around the world of sport

The last seven days of sport have not disappointed but as always whilst some were celebrating, others were inevitably left despairing.

Joe Hart
Just when the England goalkeeper appeared to be rediscovering some form, another calamity gave Hart the headlines form all the wrong reasons. With Manchester City just a matter of moments away from securing a valuable and well-earned point at Chelsea, the former Shrewsbury stopper inexplicably charged out of his goal towards a hopeful punt forward. Matija Nastasic looked to have the situation under control but as Hart kept coming towards him could only head the ball beyond the 'keeper allowing Fernando Torres to score the simplest of winning goals.
Wales Rugby League
Not the start the Rugby League World Cup co-hosts will have wanted. A very winnable game against Italy at the Millennium Stadium turned into a disaster as the Azzurri recorded a shock 32-16 win. Despite taking a 16-14 lead early in the second half, Wales rarely looked comfortable and Italy ran in a further four tries to seal the victory.
Gareth Hock
Whilst England's players will have been disappointed to lose their Rugby World Cup opener to Australia they still arguably had a better week than Gareth Hock. The second rower was thrown out of the England squad for 'serious breaches' of team discipline as the squad prepared for the clash with Australia at Loughborough University. The forward who will join Salford ahead of next year's Super League will now miss the chance to play at a home World Cup.
