Gareth Bale: Wales coach Chris Coleman describes him as 'a world class player'
Wales coach Chris Coleman has insisted that his side are not overly dependent on winger Gareth Bale.
The Tottenham Hotspur star scored two late goals against Scotland at the Cardiff City Stadium to lead the Dragons to a 2-1 victory earlier this month.
It was Wales' first win in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign and the performance of Bale has sparked suggestions that Coleman's team depend on him for success.
However, the Wales coach has dismissed the suggestions, claiming that Bale's performances both for club and country are always highlighted.
"Gareth is a world class player," said Coleman at the McDonald's Welsh Community Football Awards.
"He is 23 and only going to get better. Even when he plays for Tottenham people want to talk about him and look at the quality of players they have got.
"It is not his fault. People want to talk about him as a positive because he has made such an impact in the last two or three seasons."
