Algeria defender Madjid Bougherra believes his team can qualify for the second round of the World Cup

Desert Foxes not out of it yet

Algeria defender Madjid Bougherra believes his team can upset all the odds to qualify for the second round of the World Cup from Group C. The Desert Foxes go into their final game against the USA bottom of the pile after a 1-0 defeat to Slovenia and the shock goalless draw with group favourites England on Friday. Algeria are still just a point behind the Americans, who have drawn their opening two games, as well as England, but despite their expectation to qualify, Rangers centre-back Bougherra has insisted his side can pull off another surprise to beat Bob Bradley's US team. Bougherra's side were written off before facing England in Cape Town, but the Three Lions' desperately poor performance and inability to trouble the Algerians has given them a new lease of life and the belief that they can make it to the last 16. "The point we got against England was priceless and one of the highlights of my career," said Bougherra. "But we all believe there is more to come from us against the USA. "We know a win could send us into the second phase for the first time. "And without going over the top, this is a game which could change our lives and give us memories we'll always have with us."
