Serbia manager Radomir Antic is confident Nemanja Vidic will overcome a virus before their World Cup opener.

The Manchester United defender has missed the friendly matches against Poland and Cameroon, with an upset stomach and a high temperature.

Serbia take on Ghana for their first match of this summer's tournament on Sunday and Antic still believes Vidic will be ready.

He said: "Vidic has not trained since he had a rash, but he is getting better."

Vidic has been a key player for his club in recent seasons and is now widely regarded as one of the top centre-backs in world football.

Serbia have been drawn in Group D for the South Africa tournament, alongside Germany and Australia as well as Ghana.
