Mexico have warned that they will not be content to play the supporting cast in England's World Cup farewell.

Aguirre, Franco and Vela in confident mood ahead of World Cup

Mexico have warned that they will not arrive at Wembley solely content to play the supporting cast in England's World Cup farewell. Javier Aguirre's side offer the opposition to Fabio Capello's men on Monday night in their last home match before this summer's finals in South Africa. But Mexico are also preparing for the World Cup, when they will face the hosts in the tournament's curtain-raiser, and they are therefore aiming for a win in London. The majority of Aguirre's squad are players who were members of the Under 17 world cup-winning side five years ago to offer an example of their ability. Aguirre said in The Sun: "These are the best young players in Mexico's history, they are world champions. "Add that to our experienced players and I feel this team is ready to make history."

Incredible

West Ham's Guillermo Franco is also in a confident mood, saying in the Daily Mirror: "We can beat England even though they are a very important team, very strong, hard opposition who play very well. "Fabio Capello has made his mark and I believe it will be a fine test for Mexico. We are playing one of the best sides in the world, but of course we can win. There are no unbeatable international teams." Arsenal's Carlos Vela believes the outing at Wembley will also help Mexico prepare for the hostile atmosphere of facing South Africa on 11th June in Johannesburg. He said in the Daily Star: "The environment is incredible, the people live every game passionately and it will be a difficult situation to have the public against us. "It will serve as preparation for facing South Africa as hosts. "It will be a very important game as England are one of the strongest teams of the moment. "It is an important test for both teams because they have also to play against a great team in Mexico."
