Henrik Larsson has intimated that Sweden could look to use diving as a tool to aid them in defeating Portugal.
Lars Lagerback's side tackle the Portuguese in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday with the two teams currently level on five points in Group 1.
In the lead up to the game, Cristiano Ronaldo's flamboyant nature has been called into question.
Manchester United winger Ronaldo has been criticised in the past for apparent simulation when trying to buy his side an advantage.
And Helsingborgs striker Larsson has claimed the Swedes may opt to replicate Portugal's tactics in Porto.
The Sweden captain told Fotbollskanalen: "Hopefully we can act the same way ourselves.
"When it comes to winning, and it's wrong to say it, you have to use all means necessary to win.
"Everyone here likes to win, no one likes to lose, and it doesn't matter how you do it.
"You have to be in the right situation, and with the right timing, to dive. It could be useful on occasions. No matter what it looks like."
