Robbie Keane continued his comeback from injury as the LA Galaxy beat Real Salt Lake 1-0

LA Galaxy extended their unbeaten home run to 23 games as a first-half Juninho penalty gave them a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake.

The hosts were awarded a spot kick when the ball hit Jamison Olave’s hand as he made a challenge on the ground, and Juninho sent Nick Rimando the wrong way.

Olave was dismissed in stoppage time for a strong challenge on Robbie Keane, who came on as a substitute as he continued his return from injury.

Seattle Sounders moved to the top of Major League Soccer's Western Conference after a 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids.

Marco Pappa put the hosts in front early on with his first goal of the season, while goalkeeper Stefan Frei kept his third clean sheet in succession, and the Sounders have gone 380 minutes without conceding a goal at home.

Portland Timbers captain Will Johnson made his return from a broken leg his side beat Eastern Conference leaders DC United 1-0.

Maximiliano Urruti’s early goal proved to be the difference for the Timbers, who picked up their fourth win of the campaign.
