DC United missed the chance to go top of the MLS Eastern Conference after they slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Houston Dynamo.
A win for Ben Olsen's side would have seen them replace Sporting Kansas City as the conference leaders but instead they left the BBVA Compass Stadium with nothing as Will Bruin's tap-in during stoppage time secured Houston's sixth victory of the season.
The result in Texas means DC United remain second in the Eastern Conference, while Houston remain ninth but now have the same amount of points as the eighth-placed Chicago Fire.
Meanwhile in the Western Conference, FC Dallas were 1-0 winners against bottom side Chivas USA.
Canadian forward Tesho Akindele scored the winner from close range in the 49th minute after being set up by Fabian Castillo.
The win means Dallas are now level on points with the third-placed Los Angeles Galaxy, although Bruce Arena's side have played three games fewer.
Chivas remain bottom of the Western Conference but are level on points with the San Jose Earthquakes.
