Guillem Balague has been blogging for skysports.com from Brazil throughout the World Cup - and here are the players who have caught his eye.

Golden Glove winning goalkeeper Manuel Neuer takes his place between the sticks after helping Germany to their World Cup victory.

The Bayern Munich man is protected by a talented three-man defence, including his club captain Philipp Lahm, who made more passes than any other player in the World cup. Argentina ace Ezequiel Garay also makes the cut, along with Holland's defensive rock, Ron Vlaar

Guillem opted for a four-man midfield, with finalist Javier Mascherano at the heart of the action. Winger Juan Cuadrado gets the nod after his impressive display for surprise-package Colombia, while Toni Kroos and five-goal hero Thomas Muller bring World Cup-winning quality to the midfield.

For his frontline trio, our Spanish football expert has selected tournament top-scorer James Rodriguez, who netted six times for Colombia, Dutch master Arjen Robben, who was a thorn in defences' sides throughout, and Golden Ball winner Lionel Messi
