Eredivisie round-up: Ajax draw blank against struggling NAC Breda

Ajax were held to a goalless draw by Eredivisie strugglers NAC Breda, who were reduced to 10 men late on at the Amsterdam ArenA on Sunday.

Last year's champions, whose title hopes were ended after PSV Eindhoven clinched the top prize on Saturday, failed to break relegation-threatened NAC down as they remain second in the table, nine points ahead of third-placed Feyenoord, who slipped up against Go Ahead Eagles.

NAC lost late substitute Gill Swerts to a straight red card at the death and they sit three points from safety.

Meanwhile, Jules Reimerink's 72nd-minute effort was enough to hand second-bottom Go Ahead Eagles their seventh win of the season as they edged Feyenoord 1-0.

Fellow strugglers Heracles claimed a 2-0 home victory over 10-man PEC Zwolle thanks to a goal apiece from Thomas Bruns and Bryan Linssen. Trent Sainsbury saw red eight minutes after the break for the visitors.

Elsewhere, FC Utrecht moved up to 12th after a 56th-minute winner from Sebastien Haller saw his side move past FC Twente 1-0.
