This Memphis Depay goal set PSV Eindhoven on their way to a 22nd Eredivisie title.

PSV Eindhoven clinched their first Eredivisie title since 2008 in style with a 4-1 home win over Heerenveen.

PSV would have won their 22nd league crown last weekend only for for nearest challengers Ajax to delay things with victory over Heracles, but there was no denying Phillip Cocu's men this time as they finished off the job themselves.

It took the home side just four minutes to take the lead amid a party atmosphere at the Philips Stadion as Luuk de Jong headed home unmarked at the far post, and Memphis Depay (24) made it 2-0 with an unstoppable free-kick from the edge of the box.

Heerenveen pulled a goal back through Joey van den Berg almost immediately but another De Jong header saw PSV leading 3-1 at the break.

De Jong then set up Luciano Narsingh to side-foot in PSV's fourth in the final minute to put the gloss on a convincing win and, with the final whistle going soon after, sparking wild scenes of celebration on the touchline and in the stands.

The result leaves the newly-crowned champions 13 points clear of Ajax, who only have three games left after Sunday's home clash of NAC Breda.

In the battle to finish in the top five, Vitesse and AZ both strengthened their claims with home wins on Saturday.

Three goals in 16 second-half minutes from Valeri Qazaishvili, who got two, and Renato Ibarra helped Vitesse record a 3-0 win over rock-bottom Dordrecht that keeps them in fourth place, a point ahead of AZ who beat ADO Den Haag 3-1.

Nemanja Gudelj netted either side of a Derrick Luckassen goal for AZ, with Wilson Eduardo having briefly having drawn ADO level in the 56th minute.

In Saturday's other game, Groningen moved to within four points of the top seven with a 4-1 win at Willem II.

Tjaronn Chery netted a brace while Jarchinio Antonia and Michael De Leeuw were also on the scoresheet for Groningen, with Ali Messaoud responding for hosts Willem II in the 68th minute.
