Nottingham Forest chairman and owner Fawaz Al Hasawi insists he has no intention of selling the club and has called for unity for the remainder of the campaign.

Following Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Huddersfield rumours have appeared suggesting the Kuwaiti businessman is ready to quit the City Ground.

However, Al Hasawi has taken to Twitter to dismiss such talk and ask Reds fans to stick with him and manager Dougie Freedman for the four Championship fixtures that are left.

"All the rumours about me selling the club is fake. I don't understand why this topic keeps coming up every time," said Al Hasawi.

"We are working very hard to achieve our goals. We are getting ready for the next season with Dougie by our side and that's what's important right now. Nothing else.

"I think there are more important things to talk about. This topic has come up consistently the past couple of months.

"Instead of talking about buying or selling the club we should stand together and be positive for the next season."

Forest are ninth in the Championship table and 13 points off the play-off places. They host title-chasing Watford at the City Ground in their next match on Wednesday night.
