Hartlepool boss Ronnie Moore is among the nominations for the Sky Bet League Two manager of the month award for March after leading the club off the foot of the table.

Moore took charge at Hartlepool in December with the club at the bottom of the table but they have now climbed out of the drop zone after an excellent March.

Pools won their last four League Two games of the month, conceding just one goal in the process, and climbed above Cheltenham and Tranmere in the standings.

The other nominees are Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Gareth Ainsworth and Dave Flitcroft.

Hasselbaink manages leaders Burton, who took 13 points from five March games and secured a memorable 2-1 victory against Southend, despite having been reduced to 10 men.

Ainsworth’s Wycombe side are chasing Burton hard and, despite a tough-looking run of fixtures in March, Wycombe went unbeaten and claimed 16 points to remain on course for automatic promotion.

Flitcroft has led Bury into a position from which they may be able to challenge for an automatic promotion place themselves and they won four of their five March matches, keeping three clean sheets.

The Sky Bet League Two player of the month nominees are Billy Bingham, Bobby Grant, Scott Harrison and Jon McLaughlan.

Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Bingham enjoyed a great March, setting up a goal against Plymouth with a beautiful pass and scoring a pair of absolute crackers himself.

Meanwhile, Grant has been busy scoring the goals which have kept Shrewsbury on course for promotion, netting five in the month, including a pair of beauties at Portsmouth.

Centre-back Harrison has been a key figure in Hartlepool’s revival, dominating at the back and returning from a concussion suffered against Mansfield to volley home the winner in a 2-1 defeat of Cambridge.

And Burton goalkeeper McLaughlan has been in fine form, conceding just three goals all month and saving penalties in successive matches against Southend and Tranmere.
