Sky Sports News HQ's Rob Wotton takes us through a busy week on the Morning View in his weekly blog.

A whole host of top names have popped onto The Morning View this week - the likes of Graeme Le Saux, Alan Shearer, Peter Schmeichel and Johnny Nelson were all guests - but the agenda has been dominated by two big stories.

The events at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and the news that the 2022 World Cup could well be held in November and December.

Wednesday brought news of a winter World Cup in seven years’ time.  The tournament in Qatar, it is envisaged, will now be held between November and December 18th 2022. Sky Sports News HQ’s Chief News Reporter Bryan Swanson brought us the story. And Paul Walsh and Gerry Francis weren’t holding back on their opinions.

The early part of the week on The Morning View was dominated by the fall-out from Stamford Bridge. Jose Mourinho had appeared on Sky Sports Goals on Sunday over the weekend and had reinforced his beliefs that referee Martin Atkinson had missed four key decisions during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Burnley. The headline maker from that game was without doubt Ashley Barnes' challenge on Nemanja Matic and the Chelsea player’s subsequent red card. Andy Hinchcliffe and Francis Benali agreed both with Mourinho’s assessment that the Blues had been had hard done by and with his idea of introducing video technology to help referees.

The debate still raged on the next day with the news that Matic had had his banned reduced to two games, although it still meant he would miss the Capital One Cup Final and that Barnes would face no retrospective action. Keith Andrews and Dean Ashton were the guests on The Morning View on Tuesday and the former England striker believes that the solution to the future of refereeing in this country is simple…enlist former players

Alan Shearer joined us on The Morning View on Thursday. He told us exclusively that a return to management would never be on the cards, not even to help Newcastle in their current plight. He also said that Harry Kane could well become a superstar, but it would be unfair to heap too much pressure and expectation on his shoulders. And when we tested Shearer on a former team-mate - the England legend struggled with his memory!!

What a week we have in store for you next week... Stuart Pearce, Alan Smith, Andy Walker, Rachel Yankey, Phil Babb, Paul Walsh, Alan McInally and Tony Gale just some of the big names joining us on The Morning View. So make sure you join us too Monday to Friday from 10 am.
