Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Steve Morgan has been fined £2,500 and warned about his future conduct after remonstrating with referee Mike Jones after the game against Bournemouth on December 6.
Morgan left his seat in the director’s box to confront Jones at the end of the match to confront Jones following a series of controversial decisions in the 2-1 defeat at Molineaux.
Wolves had two players sent off in the match - winger Rajiv van La Parra and defender Matt Doherty. It was Wolves' fifth consecutive defeat.
Morgan did not back down from his criticism of Jones but conceded his methods of voicing his disapproval were inappropriate.
“I would like to apologise personally to Mike Jones. I was extremely angry and frustrated at many of his refereeing decisions, and I still am," Morgan told the club's official site after he was charged.
“However, I should not have gone pitch-side to vent my frustrations”.
Morgan was fined by the FA for using language or exhibiting behaviour that was either abusive, insulting or improper.
