Ajax struck four second-half goals to claim a 4-1 comeback victory at home to 10-man Heerenveen and move to within one point of Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven.

Luciano Slagveer handed the visitors an 18th-minute lead but the 21-year-old winger saw red for his second booking just before the break to lead his side battling with 10 men.

Daley Sinkgraven put the ball into his own net after 66 minutes before goals from Anwar El Ghazi and Ricardo Kishna along with Arkadiusz Milik's late penalty handed Ajax all three points.

Five points further back in third, late goals from Jens Toornstra and Ruben Schaken saw Feyenoord record a 2-0 victory over bottom side FC Dordrecht.

AZ Alkmaar extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 1-0 victory over Vitesse thanks to Aron Johannsson's 14th-minutes goal as they moved up to fifth in the table.

Go Ahead Eagles returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win at home to NAC.

Jules Reimerink and Alex Schalk were on target in the first half for the hosts, while lowly NAC - just five points off the bottom - lost Mats Seuntjens to a straight red card in with eight minutes to go.

Also on Saturday, Willem II and Excelsior played out a 1-1 draw after Alessandro Damen cancelled out Tom Van Weert's effort.
