Clean sheets appease Robinson

Karl Robinson thought MK Dons might have snatched all three points but both managers were happy with a point in a goalless draw.

MK Dons went closest to scoring when the impressive Tom Flanagan hit the post and Benik Afobe had a lob shot cleared off the goal-line. Robinson said: "If I'm honest I'm slightly disappointed that we didn't pinch it near the end when we hit the post and had a shot cleared off the line. "But don't get me wrong. That's a good point against a good side and it's our eighth clean sheet of the season when we only had 12 in the whole of last season. "We've got two games in hand and we're a good side so I'm feeling positive. "We are really improving and we just need to keep picking up points. "We couldn't break the deadlock but I was really impressed with the way we played. "The only grumble was our delivery for some set-pieces but when we did get it right we caused them problems." Doncaster defended well with new loan signing Andy Butler impressing at the back and went close in the second half through Harry Forrester and Paul Keegan. Doncaster boss Paul Dickov said: "That was a big improvement, especially defensively, to keep a clean sheet against a team I regard as one of the best in the division. "In the second half I thought we were the better side apart from a five-minute spell near the end, but we'll take the point and move on from there." Dickov added: "Andy Butler made a massive difference to us. He has a calming influence and brings the best out of others. "Hopefully we'll bring another loan player in next week and I'm grateful the board has shown its support by allowing me to do that. "I thought we did well. It's not rocket science. When you work hard you get results." Breaking news, transfer gossip, line ups and goal alerts from your football club - delivered direct to your mobile. Sign up for Sky Sports Alerts
