Sky Bet Championship: Huddersfield striker Daniel Carr sent to Mansfield on loan

Mansfield have bolstered their striking options with the capture of Daniel Carr on an emergency one-month loan deal from Huddersfield.

The 20-year-old, who had a loan spell at Fleetwood last term, is available for the Stags' clash at Tranmere on Tuesday night.

Town are in desperate need for reinforcements in attack after injuries to Matt Rhead and Ollie Palmer left them with just two fit strikers to choose from.

Carr has made three first-team appearances for the Terriers and is the second player to depart the club on loan following Matt Crook's move to Hartlepool.

Huddersfield boss Chris Powell said: "Daniel is at the stage of his development where he needs to experience first-team football and that is not something we can offer him here at the moment, so this loan move is perfect for everyone.

"Mansfield is a good club challenging for promotion in a very competitive League Two and is an ideal environment for Daniel to go and play in the division. We'll watch him very closely during his initial month at the club.
