Millwall have been dealt a fresh injury setback after Nicky Bailey tore a calf muscle.

The midfielder had only just recently returned to action after a calf problem, but he suffered a new injury at Huddersfield on Saturday.

The news comes as another blow to Millwall, who recently lost right-back Carlos Edwards to a cruciate injury and are still without wingers Lee Martin and Angel Martinez.

Lions physio Bobby Bacic told the club website: "Nicky Bailey is in a similar position to Carlos in the fact he entered the Huddersfield match feeling fit with over a week's training, an under-21's match under his belt and feeling no problem from his previous calf injury.

"However like Carlos, Nicky managed to 'luck out' and catch his studs in the turf and also hyper-extend his knee and sustain an injury, but obviously not as serious as Carlos'.

"Nicky has sustained a brand new tear to the right gastroc calf muscle which has an action in flexing the knee. The tear thankfully is minor and we expect to have him back training soon after the international break.

"He joins Lee Martin who is recovering well from his knee ligament injury. Lee has started outdoor straight line running. The final member in the treatment room is Angel Martinez who has torn a calf muscle and he is in the early stages of rehab."
