Preston defender Ben Davies has joined League Two Tranmere on a one-month youth loan.
The 19-year-old will fill the gap left by Matt Hill, who ruptured his Achilles earlier this week, and will allow him to get some regular game time having found his chances limited at Deepdale recently. Davies, who will stay with Rovers until October 22, is available to make his debut against Exeter on Saturday.
