Scottish football: Hamilton's Darian McKinnon handed three-game ban

Hamilton midfielder Darian McKinnon has accepted a fixed three-match ban following his sending off in last weekend's clash against Dundee United at Tannadice.

McKinnon was shown a second yellow card just 30 minutes into the 2-2 draw after celebrating a goal in front of the home side's technical area.

He had already been booked following an incident with home striker Nadir Ciftci, who himself saw red before the half-time interval.

McKinnon, who joined the Premiership leaders from Clydebank in the summer of 2012, had been offered the suspension by the Scottish Football Association, or the chance to challenge the dismissal.

He will now miss three games, at least one of which must be a top-flight match dated from September 27.

Accies, who took over top spot after goals from Mickael Antoine Curier and Anthony Andreu earned them a point on Tayside, face Kilmarnock at New Douglas Park this weekend before they entertain local rivals Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup next Wednesday.
