Women's football: Chelsea Ladies striker Eni Aluko yet to peak for England

Eni Aluko is delighted with her improvement at international level but insists the best is yet to come from her in an England shirt.

England arrived in Montenegro on Tuesday ahead of their final World Cup qualifier, with a place at Canada 2015 already secured following nine wins from nine matches.

And Chelsea Ladies striker Aluko, who is England’s top scorer in 2015 World Cup qualifying, is eager to continue her rich goalscoring form.

“I said before the start of the season just after the Euros that I wanted to score more goals for England,” Aluko told Sky Sports.

“So to be in this position now with 10 goals in the qualifying campaign, 12 this year, is really pleasing.

“Mark Sampson is a new manager and he had his own philosophies so it was difficult at first to see where I fitted in in terms of his playing style.

“But I think it has pushed me to try and develop my game and become more of a threat going forward.

“I think I’ve brought that to my game and I hope that continues. I’ve got to be humble enough to know that there’s more to come and that’s a prospect that excites me to be honest.”
