Abdoulaye Doucoure's second-half strike saw Rennes hold champions Paris Saint-Germain to a 1-1 draw in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Doucoure equalised just before the hour-mark to cancel out Zoumana Camara's opener and ensure Rennes maintained their impressive start to the campaign.

Philippe Montanier's side are now third in the table and level on points with PSG, who missed out on the chance to go top with pacesetters Bordeaux not in action until Sunday.

St Etienne, who were still reeling after a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of PSG before the international break, managed to squeeze past Caen 1-0 at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

The hosts were on top throughout, but Caen held firm until the 74th minute when Jean-Jacques Pierre put through his own net to get St Etienne back to winning ways.

There was also joy for Reims as they finally got their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Toulouse at the Stade Auguste Delaune.

David N'Gog scored an exquisite debut goal for Reims early on, curling home from the edge of the box, before Gaetan Courtet wrapped up the win with five minutes remaining.

Elsewhere, Guillaume Gillet spared Bastia's blushes as he cancelled out Pablo Chavarria's earlier strike for newly-promoted Lens to make it 1-1 at the Stade Armand Cesari.

But there was no such reprieve for Metz after a misplaced backpass from Guido Milan allowed Alexy Bosetti to secure a 1-0 win for Nice in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Lamine Kone's own goal also saw Lorient slip to a 1-0 defeat at Montpellier, who are now fourth in the table.
