Oldham have gone some way to softening the blow of losing Jonson Clarke-Harris on transfer deadline day by bringing in Dominic Poleon and Michael Tidser.

The Latics sold Clarke-Harris to Championship Rotherham for an undisclosed fee which shattered the Millers' £250,000 record and Scottish midfielder Tidser moves the other way on loan until January.

Poloen joins from Leeds on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Boss Lee Johnson said: "Poleon is a young talent who is quite unproven but he's got a good reputation in football with the managers he has worked with.

"We believe he needs to be coached and educated but we know he has the raw potential to be a big asset to this club and that's why the chairman has gone the extra mile to sign him.

"We are looking forward to working with Tidser. This is a deal that suited both ourselves and Rotherham.

"Hopefully he can prove to us what he is about with the football we are trying to play."
