Mauricio Pochettino believes his Tottenham players should be wary of Europa League opponents AEL Limassol on Thursday.

Pochettino was at stadium:mk on Tuesday night to witness MK Dons' 4-0 Capital One Cup second-round win over Louis van Gaal's Manchester United.

He feels that his Spurs players should have learned from the match not to take it easy against AEL at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham won the first leg of their play-off tie 2-1 in Cyprus last week and will be favourites heading into the return contest.

However, Pochettino has urged his players not to be complacent and be ready for the challenge that their opponents will pose.

"I think it is a different game than what we played in Larnaca against Limassol," said the Argentine boss. "We need to be focused and ready.

"I believe that it will be a tough game because all games are difficult. On Tuesday, it was difficult for Manchester United and you need to be focused on your objective.

"Now we need a very good performance to beat Limassol and because we need to stay in the next round.

"I watched the game in Milton Keynes live. I was there. It was difficult, but it's a good example to be ready.

"We got a good result in Larnaca but we need to be ready and focused on the game."
