Chesterfield coach Eric Nixon believes Armand Gnanduillet is showing signs of realising his potential.
The 22-year-old striker remains something of a rough diamond but under the tutelage of manager Paul Cook and his coaching staff he has improved significantly since his arrival at the club in January 2013. Gnanduillet, who contributed six goals in 39 appearances as the Spireites lifted the Sky Bet League Two title last season, has enjoyed a productive summer with some good performances in Chesterfield's friendly matches - most notably scoring a first-half hat-trick at Alfreton. Nixon said: "He's learning, which is fantastic. Everyone at the club is pleased for Armand. "He's put a lot of time and effort into his game and adapted well and I think a lot of people are seeing the change in him now and the undoubted potential he has because he is taking on board what are are trying to instil into him. "He's getting on the ball and bringing other players into play more and seeing that it is all about the team rather than the individual. He's showing what a good player he is and we're really pleased with him." It was anticipated that Gnanduillet would go out on loan for part of the 2014/15 campaign but that seems unlikely to happen until Cook is able to bring in at least one more striker.
