Sky Bet Championship: Paul Raynor happy with Rotherham win

Rotherham assistant manager Paul Raynor was happy to boast a clean bill of health following their 1-0 friendly win over Nottingham Forest.

Kieran Agard's solitary strike, his third in pre-season, was enough to secure a morale-boosting victory for the Millers, who gave a run out to veteran trialist Jonathan Greening against his former team.

"It was a good solid performance; we were very pleased with the fitness levels," Raynor told the club's official website.

"We were also pleased that we came through the game relatively unscathed.

"Richard Wood did end up having a couple of stitches above his eyebrow, it won't improve his looks but he certainly will not worry about it."

On former Manchester United midfielder Greening, Raynor added: "We'll have a chat between the gaffer and the staff and we'll see where we go with that.

"Jon has been with us for the last couple of days and we'll see what happens in the next few days with that one."

Rotherham begin life back in the Sky Bet Championship with a difficult visit to Derby on Saturday, August 9.
