Morecambe have completed the signing of defender Tom McCready on non-contract terms.

The 23-year-old, the younger brother of former Shrimps stalwart Chris McCready, has joined the League Two club after impressing in the pre-season friendlies with AFC Liverpool and Oldham. Manager Jim Bentley paid tribute to the player's desire to make a positive impression and secure an extended deal. He told the official club's official website: "It's refreshing in this day and age where a young footballer who's trying to make his way in the game is willing to sign for no wages. He's got savings so he's quite happy to sign for nothing and live off that while he does his stuff and tries to earn a permanent contract with us."
