Barnsley have confirmed goalkeeper Luke Steele is in talks with Greek side Panathinaikos.
The 29-year-old, who arrived at Oakwell on a permanent transfer in 2008, is in Athens for talks with the side who have won 20 Greek Superleague titles.
A statement on Barnsley's official website read: "Barnsley Football Club can confirm Luke Steele has been given permission to talk to Greek side Panathinaikos.
"Steele has been at Panathinaikos for the last 24 hours to hold talks, but as yet the paperwork has not been finalised.
"The club will release a further statement when appropriate."
Steele has made 227 appearances for the Tykes, including 17 games on loan in the 2007/08 campaign.
