Bastia have signed Togo international Floyd Ayite on a three-year contract after his Reims deal expired.

The 25-year-old winger put pen to paper on a deal with Claude Makelele's side on Tuesday afternoon.

A statement on Bastia's official website said: "Sporting Club Bastia is pleased to announce the signing of the young Togo international on a three-year deal.

"Having arrived at Bastia on Tuesday morning, he signed his contract in the late afternoon after undergoing a medical."

Ayite had recently been linked to a number of English clubs as it became apparent he would not sign fresh terms with Jean-Luc Vasseur's side, but he has opted to stay in France.

He scored five goals and managed four assists in 32 matches last season as Reims finished 11th in Ligue 1.

Ayite joined Reims in 2011 from Bordeaux and has also had loan stints at Angers and Nancy.

The pacey attacker has played 13 times for Togo, scoring his only international goal to date against Gabon in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in November 2009.
