Croatia midfielder Luka Modric admits he is unsure whether he will feature in their World Cup Group A fixture with Cameroon on Wednesday.
The Real Madrid playmaker picked up an injury to his foot during their 3-1 loss to Brazil on Thursday after colliding with Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo.
Scans have shown that Modric has avoided a broken foot, but there are still doubts over his fitness and the former Tottenham Hotspur man has revealed that he is hopeful of a quick recovery.
“The area around my ankle is swollen and the pain is enormous,” he told Sportske Novosti.
“But nothing is broken and this is a good sign. Now I will have to do my therapy and I hope that I will be alright for Cameroon.
“The pain is the only problematic part for me but the pain will go away.”
