Steven Mildenhall - Bristol Rovers
Southend were held to a goalless draw at home to Bristol Rovers and goalkeeper Mildenhall was largely to thank for the home side's frustration. The shot-stopper pulled off a number of fine saves as Rovers dug deep to take a point from the encounter. His shining moment came in the 77th minute when he kept out Freddy Eastwood's low effort, then the keeper also denied Britt Assombalonga before the game was out to ensure the visitors travelled home with a point and a clean sheet.
Peter Murphy - Accrington Stanley
Murphy contributed an important display as Accrington boosted their survival chances with a crucial 2-0 victory over Morecambe on Friday night. The young right-back did not need long to put his stamp on the game, scoring Stanley's opener on 28 minutes to put them on course for the win and mark his second goal in as many games and his fifth this season. The defender was also a solid presence at the back as the home side kept a clean sheet to put the icing on what could be a vital success.
Kari Arnason - Rotherham
Rotherham kept themselves firmly in the play-off picture with a 2-1 home win over Fleetwood and captain Arnason proved a rock at the heart of the Millers' defence, leading by example as the Yorkshire side picked up a vital three points. Jamille Matt was an imposing presence in the visitors' frontline but Arnason was more than able to hold his own and also showed his prowess getting forward, coming close to scoring when his header from a Michael O'Connor corner went narrowly over.
Michael Hector - Cheltenham
Hector was the hero for Cheltenham at home to already-promoted Gillingham as he scored the crucial goal that handed the hosts a 1-0 win while denying the Kent side the chance to clinch the League Two title. The encounter had appeared to be heading for a goalless draw but that all changed midway through the second half when centre-back Hector, on loan from Reading, popped up to head home Billy Jones' corner to break the deadlock and keep Cheltenham's hopes of automatic promotion alive.
Jack O'Connell - York
York handed themselves a welcome boost in the battle against relegation with a 2-0 victory at Northampton and teenage defender O'Connell contributed a commendable display for the Minstermen to help keep the hosts at bay. The 19-year-old, on loan from Blackburn, dealt with everything that was thrown at him on the left of York's defence and put in a tireless showing as the visitors managed a welcome clean sheet, while also moving up to 20th in the table and three points clear of the drop zone.
Alfie Potter - Oxford
Oxford piled more woe on Dagenham & Redbridge with a 1-0 win at Victoria Road and it was Potter who inflicted the damage on the hosts. The winger, used to good effect in a more central role, powered home his 10th goal of the season in a scrappy opening half, slamming in a shot from 10 yards after a loose ball fell to him in the box. More good work by Potter saw the visitors almost double their lead in the second half but Sean Rigg failed to convert his well-placed low cross.
Jason Kennedy - Rochdale
Kennedy handed Rochdale a share of the spoils in dramatic style as his last-gasp goal sealed a 2-2 draw at home to Port Vale, marking the midfielder's seventh strike of the season. Liam Chilvers had put Vale ahead in the 89th minute to amend for his earlier own goal but their celebrations were silenced in stoppage-time when Kennedy glanced home a Michael Rose cross to snatch a point from the clash and cause the visitors to put their promotion party on ice.
Ashley Chambers - York
Chambers, another York man, makes the cut after his heroics in the victory at Northampton, during which he scored the Minstermen's seventh-minute opener. After providing the free-kick which led to Tom Platt prompting the first save of the game on just four minutes, Chambers had broken the deadlock moments later when he shot between home keeper Lee Nicholls' legs from 10 yards. The winger did not ease off after that goal, putting in a diligent display to ensure York saw out the success.
Matt McClure - Wycombe
McClure scored one goal and set up another as Wycombe saw off Aldershot 2-1. The young striker was a dangerous figure in the opening half and broke the deadlock five minutes after the break when he capitalised on a defensive slip to fire home the opener. He then played a key role in the winner after Craig Stanley had equalised, putting through Joel Grant to set up his cool finish as Wycombe piled more woe on the rock-bottom Shots.
Jamie Reid - Exeter
Reid was on target with a double for Exeter as they twice went ahead at AFC Wimbledon, only to be held to a 2-2 draw. The Grecians took the lead in the 36th minute when Reid was given space to unleash a low shot from outside the box. The striker then doubled his haul in the second half, firing home from a tight angle. Unfortunately it was not enough to hand Exeter the three points, with the club still sitting just outside the play-off places in eighth.
Luke Moore - AFC Wimbledon
Moore was the one who rained on Exeter's parade as he too bagged a brace for Wimbledon to deny the visitors. He cancelled out Reid's opener just after the hour mark, pouncing on a loose ball when Exeter failed to clear then drew the home side level once again on 63 minutes, driving home a low shot from outside the box to ensure Wimbledon took a share of the spoils as they battle relegation.
