Jack Butland - Birmingham City
It came as something of a surprise to see Butland still at Birmingham as the transfer window slammed shut, but they continue to benefit from his considerable shot-stopping ability. The England international produced a spectacular display at Charlton on Saturday, keeping the Addicks at bay until the 88th minute as a dramatic end to proceedings saw the game end 1-1.
Danny Batth - Wolverhampton Wanderers
In truth, there were few standout displays within the Wolves starting XI during their 2-2 draw with Leeds, but Batth gets the nod after making a decisive late impact. The 22-year-old netted his first league goal for the club with just seconds remaining at Molineux. His late headed effort earned Wolves a share of the spoils and a place on the right of our back four.
Scott Golbourne - Barnsley
Golbourne has made over 230 appearances during his career, but has netted just six goals. With it rare to see him wheeling away in celebration, it seems only right that his latest effort is acknowledged - especially as it helped Barnsley to three points. The Tykes battled bravely to a 3-2 victory over high-flying Middlesbrough on Saturday, with Golbourne grabbing their second.
Peter Ramage - Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace recovered from two goals down at fellow promotion hopefuls Watford on Friday to snatch a 2-2 draw and keep themselves in the hunt for a top-two finish. Ramage was the man to haul them back into the game, as he found the target on 66 minutes, with the Eagles defender bundling the ball home after Watford failed to deal with a Stephen Dobbie corner.
Joel Lynch - Huddersfield Town
The only goalless draw in 12 second tier fixtures over the weekend came at the John Smith's Stadium, as Huddersfield took a point off table-topping Cardiff. In doing so, they became just the third side this season to prevent the Bluebirds from finding the target. Lynch played his part in keeping the back door firmly bolted.
Tom Ince - Blackpool
Another week, another fine finish from Ince. Blackpool will be delighted to still have the midfielder on their books, but it would appear that they stand little chance of retaining his services over the summer. Ince drove home Blackpool's leveller in a 2-1 victory over Millwall on Saturday, with the England U21 international making light of a terrible playing surface to find the corner of the net.
Marvin Elliott - Bristol City
Sean O'Driscoll will have had his Bristol City side fired up for a meeting with his former employers Nottingham Forest on Saturday, and saw them claim a deserved 2-0 success at Ashton Gate. Victory keeps the Robins' survival dreams alive, with Elliott notching their second of the afternoon to wrap up a third win in their last four outings.
Davide Petrucci - Peterborough United
Petrucci netted his first senior goal over the weekend, and did so in some style. The Manchester United youngster has been sent to Peterborough to get important minutes under his belt, and showed against Leicester what he is capable of. The Italian midfielder crashed home a stunning 20-yard volley to help the Posh stun the promotion-chasing Foxes 2-1 at London Road.
Vicente - Brighton & Hove Albion
There are not too many Primera Liga title winners to have turned out in the Championship down the years, but Brighton have managed to bag themselves one in Vicente. The former Spain international is far from over the hill at 31 and could be the man to inspire a push for the Premier League. His drilled free-kick against Hull City on Saturday has helped to keep the Seagulls in the play-off hunt.
Craig Davies - Bolton Wanderers
Davies opened his goal account for new employers on Saturday, with the Bolton striker starting to repay the faith shown in him by boss Dougie Freedman. He was clearly desperate to get off the mark during a derby date with Burnley at the Reebok Stadium and, after stepping off the bench, threw himself at a Lee Chung-Yong cross to divert a glancing header in off the underside of the crossbar.
Jamie Ward - Derby County
Ward is very much a man in form right now, with the Derby frontman having found the target three times in his last four appearances. He was among the goals again at Hillsborough on Saturday as the Rams were held to a 2-2 draw by Sheffield Wednesday. Ward put Derby 2-0 up after winning and converting a second half penalty, but saw the Owls fight back to claim a point.
