Snoz of The Blackout picks his dream five-a-side team...

As a devoted Liverpool fan, The Blackout's Snoz (aka Gareth Lawrence) says it was hard to resist picking a fantasy five-a-side team of Reds players past and present.

The Welsh drummer admits: "I was very tempted to go with all Liverpool players for my team, but seeing as I am lover of ALL football and fantastic players, I didn't think Bjorn Tore Kvarme would have made it!"

Following the release of The Blackout's new single 'Start The Party', with the album of the same name to hit the shelves in January, Sky Sports caught up with Snoz as he named his ideal side.

Peter Schmeichel

For me, he's the best goalkeeper the world has ever seen - and that's coming from a Liverpool fan. I always remember feeling gutted when we played United and his name was always on the team sheet. I'd think, 'how the hell are we supposed to score against him?' One of the most defining saves I think I ever saw him make was in the Champions League quarter-final against Inter Milan when a diving Ivan Zamorano header was kept out by one of his trademark "starfish" saves.

Fabio Cannavaro

For a centre-half, Cannavaro wasn't the tallest at only five foot nine, but his reading of the game was second to none. Just look at the array of clubs he played for and that tells you all you need to know. The World Cup in 2006 was where I think he excelled himself. In a quite average Italian side he was an absolute rock at the back and, along with Buffon, provided the Italians with the stability which they needed because going forward they weren't at their best.

Steven Gerrard

What can you say about the mighty Stevie G that hasn't already been said? Mr. Liverpool, captain fantastic. There have been numerous times over the years where he has dragged Liverpool from the utter depths of defeat with his sheer passion, determination and quality. My favourite moment of his was from the last group game of the 2005 Champions League, where Liverpool needed three goals after going 1-0 down to Olympiakos. He spent the second half like a man possessed and made the impossible possible by helping Liverpool get the three goals, and better still, scoring the last one himself with a 25 yard pile-driver. Sheer bliss.

Lionel Messi

Without a doubt, he's the best player on this planet right now. The things he can do with the ball sometimes blow my tiny little mind. I know a lot of people say he wouldn't be the same without Xavi and Andres Iniesta, but I honestly think if you put him in the Stoke City team, he'd still be one of the best in the world, without a doubt. I think my favourite game of his was the Champions League final at Wembley against Manchester United where he totally ran the show, and even scored. United couldn't live with his interplay with David Villa and Iniesta. Sublime.

Diego Maradona

For me, he's the greatest player to ever play the game. Everyone says that it's between him and Pele but, for me, Pele never did it outside of his home country, apart from a stint in America at the end of his career. He didn't have everything Diego Maradona did. Obviously, Maradona's defining moment was the game against England in the 1986 World Cup for the 'Hand of God' goal but the other goal he scored in that game should be remembered as one of the best goals to ever be seen at a World Cup. From start to finish at that tournament he was on another planet football-wise. No could touch him in his prime.

Diego Maradona: Rated by Snoz as the greatest ever player
