FIFPro team of the year
Lionel Messi claimed the title of the world's best player for a third straight year after winning the FIFA Ballon d'Or at an awards gala in Zurich on Monday. It was no surprise therefore when he was picked to spearhead the FIFPro team of the year's attack, with the cream of the world's talent brought together in an all-star XI.
European powerhouses Barcelona (5), Real Madrid (4) and Manchester United (2) are the only sides represented in a line-up that includes a three-man frontline comprising Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.
Did FIFA get their selection right or have there been some glaring omissions? Have your say by filling in the feedback form below.
We'd also like you to select an alternative XI, made up from those that didn't quite make the cut. To help you with your selections, below is a list of all the nominees for the FIFPro 2011 team of the year.
