Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour claims Arsenal are interested in signing him and admits he would relish a move to north London.

The 22-year-old has begun to establish himself in the Toulouse first-team this season after spending the second half of the last campaign on loan at Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen.

The Tunisia international insists he is happy to stay and continue his development at the Ligue 1 outfit but admits he would be unable to resist a move to the Premier League should Arsenal make an offer.

"It's [Arsenal's interest] true, I've heard a lot of talk while I've been at Toulouse," Abdennour told Footplus.

Excellent performances

"They come to watch and scout players. They came to see our last three matches in which I put forward excellent performances for my side.

"My agent, Mr Abdelkader, he's the one focused on these things. He's a professional and he always tells me to work hard and whatever is good for me, God will help it through. I need to work and stay focused with my side.

"We're going through a good period a Toulouse, God willing, we'll continue on this path and then hopefully the two sides can come to an agreement. I'm not going to get involved.

"If there's something good for the player and for Toulouse in me being transferred to a big club like Arsenal then why not? Right now I'm still happy at my club. I want to improve at Toulouse."
