The latest player to be spotlighted is Schalke's Julian Draxler.
The scout reports...
It is safe to say when you stand out in German football, you need to be something special and it is also safe to say that there are few talents in world football that come close to Julian Draxler.
The Schalke winger oozes class, and it does not take long to see why most of Europe is falling over themselves to try and grab him.
Elegant and graceful, but equally explosive and full of pace - Draxler is a prodigious talent.
Born just outside of Gelsenkirchen, he grew up as a Schalke fan and joined his first club aged just five - he played for junior sides BV Rentfort and SSV Buer before being spotted by Schalke, aged eight.
Draxler impressed at youth level and was already starring for Germany's Under-18 side before being selected for Schalke's first team. He made his debut aged just over 17 in January 2011, and became the club's youngest ever debutant, the fourth youngest in German football history.
Draxler almost immediately became a first-team regular and just 18 months after his debut for Schalke he was one of two uncapped players named in Germany's provisional squad for Euro 2012.
From the moment Joachim Low called up Draxler, he has been on the radar of most of Europe's top clubs, and his progress has continued at a pace.
By March 2013, he was making his 100th appearance for the club and this summer was one of Schalke battling to keep hold of him, with the player himself admitting that being a World Cup year - he was better off at Schalke.
Baby-faced Draxler looks even younger than 20, but his football is way beyond those years. At home on the left wing - he can play anywhere across the front-line - and can be devastating in any role.
At 6ft 2in, he could be gangly - but far from it, his pace sees him move effortlessly across the ground and he has a very good cross on him - although he loves and is very adept at picking a pass when breaking in field.
However, more than anything Draxler loves to shoot and he has reason to as he has stunning finishing ability - especially from range, and although left-footed can also hit them with his right.
In May 2013, he signed a two-year extension committing his future to Schalke until 2018 - but that is merely putting off the inevitable.
The scout says...
Draxler has admitted he is looking to join one of Europe's elite one day - and when he does he will have his pick - but he is a very down to earth young man who seems to know what he wants.
Draxler's talent has been allowed to flourish at Schalke and it is more than likely he will remain with his home-town club until after the World Cup - where he could very well have a starring role for Germany.
