Weekend review

Image: Rooney: Another match ball added to his collecion

Another Premier League weekend, and another match ball each for a United and City striker.

Adebayor, who kept up his record of scoring on every Premier League debut he has made. With Jermain Defoe capping a good afternoon at Molineux, Harry Redknapp left the Black Country in fine spirits. The final game on Saturday was keenly contested as Aston Villa twice came from behind to deny Everton at Goodison Park in a 2-2 draw. Another debatable penalty looked to have won the game with Leighton Baines converting, but Gabby Agbonlahor took advantage of some poor defending to head home a late leveller. Super Sunday saw two very close encounters, with West Brom the only side coming away with victory. The Baggies won the early kick-off with Peter Odemwingie poking home early on to give Roy Hodgson's side victory over Norwich - who remain winless since their Premier League return. The final match of the weekend saw a basement battle as the bottom two - after West Brom's win - Fulham and Blackburn, played out a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage with Bobby Zamora levelling after an excellent strike from Ruben Rochina put Blackburn ahead.
