Juan Sebastian Veron has been named in Argentina's squad for a training camp next month.
Coach Alfio Basile is having a get-together but has left out his European-based players and selected his squad from those plying their trade in Argentina.
Veron returned to his homeland last year and was in inspirational form as Estudiantes claimed the domestic championship.
The former Manchester United and Internazionale midfielder has not played for his country since 2003, and was not picked at all during Jose Pekerman's reign.
He was fiercely criticised for his performances in the 2002 World Cup, when Argentina crashed out in the first round.
