Juan Sebastian Veron hopes his displays for Estudiantes this term will catapult him back into the Argentina squad.
The former Internazionale, Chelsea and Manchester United schemer has over 50 caps for his country, but failed to add to his tally this summer.
Veron was overlooked for Jose Pekerman's Argentina squad as the South Americans crashed out of the World Cup on penalties to hosts Germany.
The 31-year-old is looking to get his career back on track in his homeland and is confident some vintage displays will earn him an international recall.
"It will surely depend on how I play in Estudiantes, but I dream of the chance to play again for Argentina," explained Veron.
"I feel very well and expect to have a good season at Estudiantes.
"The Argentinian championship is very difficult so if I have good performances I suppose that I could have a new chance in the national team.
"The only difference between Argentinian and European football is financial. The rest is all the same, the championships are very difficult."
