Argentina coach Jose Pekerman is waiting on Nicolas Burdisso and Luis Gonzalez before finalising his team to face Mexico.
Burdisso is struggling with a knee injury he picked up in the goalless draw with Holland, while Gonzalez is still troubled by a groin problem he sustained against Serbia & Montenegro.
Pekerman is keen to give the pair every chance to prove their fitness before naming his side.
"I'm going to wait until the last moment for Burdisso and Gonzalez," said Pekerman.
"(Gonzalez) did some movement with the ball today and also took part in team work so I'm pleased they are both close to fitness."
The Argentina chief also revealed he will recall the likes of Hernan Crespo, Javier Saviola and Gabriel Heinze for the clash with Mexico after resting them against Holland.
"The players left out (against Netherlands) were because of injuries or yellows but they will surely come back in," concluded Pekerman.
