IT was a case of South America two Asia nil on Sunday, as Argentina and Uruguay got the better of Japan and South Korea respectively in international friendlies.

Argentina and Japan have been regular opponents of late and it was Marcelo Bielsa`s side who again came out on top.

Barcelona schemer Javier Saviola put Argentina in front and the advantage was doubled moments before the break when Javier Zanetti hit the target.

Japan briefly threatened when Yutaka Akita reduced the arrears, but late goals from Bernardo Romeo and Maxi Rodriguez sealed the win.

Goals in either half by German Hornos and Sebastian Abreu gave Uruguay an excellent 2-0 win in South Korea.
