Frenchman left to rue 'one mistake' at last summer's World Cup

Frenchman William Gallas has admitted he is 'haunted' by last summer's infamous player strike. Les Bleus endured a disastrous campaign at the 2010 World Cup, capped by a fall-out between players and coaching staff. And the Tottenham defender fears his international career will only be remembered for this blemish. "We made decisions that were wrong, but at the time we were in a bubble, we were oblivious. This image haunts me and I know it will pursue me," Gallas told L'Equipe. "I've had 16 years at the top level and one decision, one mistake has screwed up everything." Gallas, who helped France reach the 2006 World Cup final, announced on Monday that he has quit the national team after being overlooked for their latest squad.
