Ankle injury forces winger to pull out

David Silva has withdrawn from Spain's squad for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers due to injury. The Valencia winger has been forced to withdraw because of a knock to his left ankle. Silva joins Fernando Torres on the sidelines for the games against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday and Armenia four days later. The news is a blow for new Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque as he prepares for his first competitive games in charge of the Euro 2008 winners. However, Del Bosque has decided not to call-up any replacement for Silva.
