France defender Mikael Silvestre believes Spain coach Luis Aragones should have been suspended over his racist remarks towards Thierry Henry.

Aragones came under fire after being caught on television saying to Jose Antonio Reyes: "You're better than that black s**t."

Aragones was hit with a £2000 fine, but Silvestre believe he should have been banned for his remarks.

Silvestre is unhappy Aragones has not apologised and has the chance to get back at him when Les Bleus go head to head with Spain in Tuesday's second round clash.

"All of the black players I know were very upset and angry by what Aragones said - not just those that play with France, but those that play all over the world," said Silvestre.

"It was inexcusable. There are many ways for coach to motivate his players without people resorting to terrible comments like that.

"Something much worse should be done to people who do things like that. He should have been suspended.

"He never apologised, which is a shame."
